IN PROGRESS…
The session started with few members and there were 11 participants staying till the end. It was very exciting to feel the energetic vibe brought by all participants. The lesson started with the discussion about the oldest business you can think of, and why they are still alive till now, which triggered excitement & engagement from all participants. The discussion was followed by What is a business, Different types of business and a quick Role Play game on a chicken business.
Fun facts:
1. SONY – THE RICE COOKER – by Tram Tran. Why? – During war time, people had no time, they had to eat quickly and go. Sony, at that moment, was able to capture the neccesity & turn it into the opportunity. Sony used the metal from aircrafts to make cooker which was able to quickly make instant rice. This is how Sony started its business, way before the music devices.
2. The oldest business you can think of…? – AEON GROUP since 1758 by Yen Hoang. Anyone can defeat?
3. Is bank a business? – asked by Minh Ngoc
4. The certificate will be given at the end of the program, it’s not free, you have to earn it. You don’t have to pay money for it, because it’s fully sponsored by Fundamental Decisions, but you have to pay your effort, commitment & engagement – by DAV79, a facilitator
The session was almost 30 minutes over-time, but still remained 7 participants till the end. It was a vivid crowd of members dialing in from Indonesia, Vietnam & Dubai.
The discussion started with “What do you want to know about the F&B Industry?” that triggered the thinking process & questions from participants. A framework has been shaped to prepare the young adults a bigger picture about the industry.
Fun facts:
- When it came to the discussion about the cause of some problems in F&B industry, no-one mentioned Covid-19 anymore, which was surprisingly interesting, and it was true, because we are tired of Covid-19, of the past… What we should concern more about is the potential challenges that F&B Industry may encounter in the future, from there, stay ahead and be innovative
- A kind invitation was released at the end of the session, a grounded research for a live project on designing solutions for a restaurant, upgrading the business to a new heights, for those who are interested in getting deeper & practical dive into F&B industry
“Can technology truly solve all our problems?” With this thought-provoking question as a starting point, our discussion delved into the multifaceted impact of technology. We ventured into the trends, the future of work, and the vital aspect of sustainability. As teams formed, focusing on the F&B, Education, and Technology sectors, our exploration went beyond surface-level symptoms to identify underlying problems.
Fun facts:
- Technology serves as an enabler, requiring a well-defined purpose
- You may want your business to generate more revenue rather than just cut costs. But why do businesses still focus on cutting costs?
The session was carried on by 3 members discussing on different scenarios in businesses – the concept V.U.C.A – identifying the problems and understand the possible solutions for different scenarios
There were 2 ladies remained in the sessions, discussing about technologies that help to support each scenario of the V.U.C.A. It was a very nice engagement and interaction among members, the vibe was good to encourage and trigger the thought process. Good outcomes from both members!
Finally, the D-day had came. There turned out only 1 member with the presentation. Audience board had 5 members, ready to listen to the new perspectives
The presentation was about FnB industry, but there was a huge gap in the understanding of the demand side. Most of the questions concerned about the demand, generating demand and forecasting demand for the start up business. It was a good try from participant, but the lack of data should not be such a big barrier to move forward and innovate.
